"Friday the Fourteenth"

We're driving down the road
I wonder if you know…
I'm trying so hard not to get caught up now
But you're just so cool
Run your hands through your hair
Absent mindedly making me want you…
Well if I spell it out...
If I get it out will you hear me when I tell you about
What I have to say before it’s too late?

It's not as easy as I thought it'd be,
But there’s something right about you and me,
Something right about you and me….

When I was younger
  I saw my mommy cry
  and curse at the wind.
  He broke her  heart
and I watched as she tried to re-assemble it.
And my mom swore that she would never let herself forget.
That was the day that I promised I'd never sing of love...
  If it didn’t exist.”

And you stare into me as we lay;
my hands starting to shake,
I tell you I'm not usually this way but
You pull me in and I’m a little more brave…

It’s the first kiss
It's flawless
Really something.....
It’s fearless.

Inside of the dark,
You tell me the name of your brother
And your favorite color….
I'm learning you.
And when it’s spring’s end
We'll take a walk outside
And search the sky....
Like children do
We're like Romeo and Juliet, 40 dogs, Blacks and cigarettes,
We're like good times that haven’t happened yet, but will.
And I can’t tell you where we're gonna be
When this whole world falls to the sea,

But I hope we’ll be living ever after....
happily.

And maybe I know, somewhere
Deep in my soul
That love never lasts
And we've got to find other ways
To make it alone
Or keep a straight face….
I've always lived like this;
Keeping a comfortable distance,
and up until now
I'd sworn to myself that I was content with loneliness…
Because none of it was ever worth the risk...

We should take a ride tonight around the town
and look around at all the beautiful houses….
There’s just something about the way that blue lights on a black night
Can make you feel more....
You make me feel more.

There's just something about the way the street looks when it's just rained
There’s a glow off the pavement...
You walk me past the cars, holding my hand
And I know you wanna ask me to dance right there
In the middle of the parking lot…

And I've got a tight grip on reality
But I can't let go of what's in front of me here
I know you're leaving in the morning, when you wake up
Leave me with some kind of proof it's not a dream
And I'll make you this guarantee….

There’s no way that August will see our goodbye
And when it comes to December …..it's obvious why:
No one wants to be alone at Christmas time.
And come January I hope we're frozen inside
Making new resolutions a hundred times
February, won’t you be my valentine?
And we'll both be safe until St. Patrick's Day
And if our always is all that we gave
And we someday take that away
I'll be alright if it was just 'til St. Patrick's Day.

Another summer day will come and go away,
In NYC I’ll roam, but I’ll wanna go home.
And I'll be surrounded by a million other people,
Yet I know I’ll still feel alone, and I’ll  wanna go home.
I’ll miss you, you know.......

"You’ll be home tonight?
 Not that far a drive….
 And I’m coming back home."
