"September Will Have A Say"

[Verse 1]
Make room for the Fall
Take down everything
Until theres nothing but beige walls
And dust on the kitchen floor

Pick up the dead flies
The coffee stains on the counter-top never lie
Like the way you did in my arms on summer nights

[Bridge]
Clean up your salty tears
I want my tile floor dry
Laugh that stale look off your face
Sorry's okay only so many times

[Chorus]
Living with you is like sleeping inside
On a cold winter's night
...Its not even December
Living with you is like playing indoors
On a rainy day of thunderstorms
...And its not even April
But September will have say

[Verse 2]
Vacuums by the window
Frosts on the pane
Mold in my mind
And a heart left in Spain

I shake out the hallway rug
Its been seasons the same
Summer leaves turned dry
I didn't notice Autumn came

[Bridge]
Clean up your salty tears
I want my tile floor dry
Laugh that stale look off your face
Sorry's okay only so many times

[Chorus]
Living with you is like sleeping inside on a cold winter's night
....I'ts not even December
Living with you is like playing indoors on a rainy day of thunderstorms
....It's not even April
But September will have a say

  3. Fernando, my poems aren't always about something I'm going through at the moment....sometimes they are about the way I've felt in the past...even 2 or 3 years ago. Sometimes they aren't even about me but about imagining how I would feel in a certain situation and empathizing with those who are. I'm inspired by all sorts of things. I wrote this on a rainy day in the apartment.
